Tremors of the magnitude 4.5 earthquake were felt for some seconds in several parts of the state at 11.20 pm on Saturday, an official of the meteorological office told IANS.

The epicentre of the quake, which was mild, was in Kangra district.

Earlier, a moderate intensity earthquake of magnitude-5 hit the state July 9.

At that time its epicentre was on the border of districts of Chamba and Lahaul-Spiti, bordering Jammu and Kashmir.

Before that, the state was rocked by low intensity earthquakes four times between June 5 and 6.

Himachal Pradesh had witnessed the most devastating earthquake in 1905 in the Kangra Valley, in which more than 20,000 people were killed.
