Sikkim 24 Dec 2013 - The three days long Sikkim Winter Carnival 2013 concluded today. The Member of Parliament Rajya Sabha Mr. Hissay Lachungpa was present as the Chief Guest of valedictory function held at M.G Marg, Gangtok. The three days long festival planned to showcase the rich culture, tradition and tourism aspect of the state had several attractions for the tourists scattered in and around Gangtok.
Speaking on the occasion, the Lachungpa lauded the efforts by the organizers and complimented them for the success of the event. Further he said Sikkim state is blessed with abundant natural splendor which the Government is tapping to the optimum by developing new tourist destination. He also informed about the various measures taken by the government in support of the tourism sector for making Sikkim a major repeated cliental destination.
The function was also attended by the Mayor Gangtok Municipal Corporation Mr. K.N Tobgay, Dy. Mayor GMC Mr. Shakti Singh, Secretary and officers from Tourism and Civil Aviation, Official from Ministry of DoNER, N.E. C, Secretaries from other Departments, Officials, Representative from the organizing Agencies and Departments, Stake Holders, Tourist and local gentries.
