The Kalimpong branch of the Bharatiya Gorkha Parisangh today observed the 118th birth anniversary of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose and honoured the legendary freedom fighter. The function was organised at the BGP’s office here on the main road.
The function was chaired by BGP Kalimpong president Dr. Saroja Rai, where secretary PK Pradhan and members Dinesh Paudyal, Ramal Chettri and Gyan Sutar, among others were also present.
Following the ceremony, Sutar spoke on Netaji’s contribution to the Indian freedom movement and his affectionate association with the Gorkha community. Dr. Saroja Rai and PK Pradhan also spoke on Netaji’s political life.
