Central government has authorized the GTA with 187 crores with an aim of providing electricity to all the rural settlements across Darjeeling Hills.
Tamang claimed that the GTA will complete the task by the end of 2015. He said the areas which are still devoid of electricity will be accessed and provided with the facility by the end of 2015. He added GPRS survey to provide electricity has already been conducted in the 8 blocks of Darjeeling Hills.
