Fire station in Mirik - GTA chief executive Bimal Gurung will be in Mirik on February 18 to lay the foundation stone for a fire station, according to a reliable source. He will also announce various schemes for the development of this area of the Darjeeling hills, added the source.
Gurung has already announced that the GTA has set aside a sum of Rs27 crore for the development of Mirik. Town residents are hopeful about the GTA chief launching more schemes to promote tourism for generating new employment opportunities.
