Former footballer and coach, Shyam Thapa supported Bhaichung’s campaign, joining him on stage as he addressed a sea of supporters at Lalbazar in Chopra.
Thapa holds the unique distinction of being a former player at both rival clubs East Bengal and Mohun Bagan. He also holds the distinction of being the only Indian coach to have coached a foreign national team.
