A delegation of the Mirik unit of Hill TMC today called on Mirik BDO Raju Sherpa and submitted a deputation related to public grievances on various government projects. The delegation led by party’s district head Rajen Mukhiya had the presence of TMC Mirik unit president Anil Chettri, Trade Union district vice president Brehaspati Subba and spokesperson Basant Thulung among others.
The delegation had extensive talks with the BDO for transparent work on various government projects and their effective management. In an hour long meeting, the delegation discussed on a number of government programmes, including tender process and timely payment for 100-days work scheme, ST/OBC certificate distribution through panchayat offices, inclusion of local youths in Pradhan Mantri Rojgar Yozna, Indira Awwas Yozna and EWS scheme along with demand of open tender process for BADP fund and MP funds. The delegation also discussed about old age pension scheme, Kanyashree Yozna, CM fund and disaster relief funds.
BDO Sherpa appreciated the initiative and guaranteed his office will discuss about the issue with higher authority and find an amicable solution to the issues.
Rajen Mukhiya informed the party will conduct such meetings and submit deputation at all the eight BDO offices in the hills along with each municipalities. On June 27, the party will hold a dharna and submit deputation at the GTA’s engineering cell at Lalkothi, he added.
