Bijanbari Bazar witnessed a mournful start to Diwali.

Today people of Bijanbari bazaar gathered near Meena Hotel with the candles in their hands and sorrows on their faces to mourn for the past tragedy that occurred in Bijanbari valley on 22nd October 2011 in which at least 32 people had been killed and more than 100 injured as a wooden suspension bridge collapsed at Bijanbari.

A candle rally was conducted by the people of Bijanbari in the memory of the deceased souls of the Bijanbari Bridge Tragedy. The rally reflected the emotions of the general public towards the lost souls of the tragedy and their families.
The rally started at 6 o’clock after the heart melting speech from Kavi Manprasad subba who told that the incident have left a scar on Bijanbari which can never be erased. He also expressed condolences to the families of the people who died in the incident.
After an hour the rally finally came to end at 7 o’clock in the newly constructed bridge of Bijanbari with the substancial participation from the youths of Bijanbari.
The program that was conducted within a short notice was a success for the people of Bijanbari.
We remember those who lost their life in this sad tragedy!!
