Gorkha National Liberation Front (GNLF) chief Subash Ghishing was on Thursday night admitted at a private hospital in Siliguri after he complained of weakness caused by jaundice and thyroid problems. Ghishing has been admitted at a nursing home in the Khalpara area by his son Mohan Ghishing who said his father suddenly fell ill last night and as his condition worsened, the family decided to bring him to Siliguri immediately from Darjeeling.
The nursing home on Fridays set up a medical board led by Dr R Shah to provide special treatment to the GNLF chief. Dr Manisha Agarwal of the hospital said Ghishing has been admitted with complaints of weakness. She added, “Mr Ghishing is suffering from jaundice and has thyroid problems.”
According to Dr Agarwal, several tests have been conducted and Ghishing’s blood samples taken and his condition is stable compared to last night.
Ghishing was admitted with the same problems in a number of nursing homes last year here in Siliguri. In November 2013, he was also taken to Apollo Hospital in Chennai for advanced treatment.
