India will have to play to their full potential when they meet Sri Lanka in their last league natch here tomorrow to keep alive their hopes of making it to the final of the tri-nation ODI series.

The Indians, who rediscovered their spark courtesy the crushing victory over the West Indies, will seek to keep the momentum going in the crucial game against the Lankans, who will be equally determined to secure a berth in the final.

It is a must-win situation for the Indians but they may have a slight edge over Sri Lanka as the islanders would not get any rest due to the rain-forced postponement of their game against the West Indies to be completed today.

On the flip side, the Indians will have to wait until at least tomorrow morning to know the mathematical calculations with regards to the finals berth given that all three teams are in with a chance.

The West Indies-Sri Lanka match, which was into its 20th over, had to be postponed to the reserve day today after rain halted play.

The Indians have no option but to wait for the result of this game to know exactly what they need to do to enter the final.

After losing two of the three matches they have played so far, Virat Kohli's men would need to be clear about the maths during the final league clash against the familiar foes.

The last time India and Sri Lanka came face to face, the islanders sailed past their neighbours with enormous ease.

But the fatigue factor, which incidentally is also setting in on the clashes between the two South Asian rivals due to the sheer frequency, could prove to be Sri Lanka's undoing tomorrow.

The Indians would come into match quite fresh and on a high after beating the West Indies in their previous game, a win that kept them in the hunt for a final berth.

Kohli provided the spark, after twin debacles in the first leg, with an inspiring hundred that was also his first as captain.

MS Dhoni turns 32, down hamstring injury

3:45 PM
The skipper is, however, laid low by a hamstring injury which he picked up during the ongoing series which also features Sri Lanka.
Hailed as the most successful Indian cricket captain, Mahendra Singh Dhoni celebrated his 32nd birthday on Sunday.

"Here's wishing a very happy birthday to our captain @msdhoni #HappyBirthdayMahi," said the BCCI on its twitter handle.
Dhoni, under whom India won the Twenty20 World Championship in 2007, the ODI World Cup (2011) and the Champions Trophy (2013), is currently in the West Indies with the national team for an ODI tri-series.

The skipper is, however, laid low by a hamstring injury which he picked up during the ongoing series which also features Sri Lanka.

Dhoni began his career in 2004/05 against Bangladesh, a rather forgettable debut considering that the player from Jharkhand was run out for a duck.

But his career graph has only headed northwards after that and he is easily one of the most revered sportspersons in the country right now.

"Hard to know what goes on in Dhoni's mind...But I am guessing he backs temperament the most when he promotes a talent," tweeted former India player Sanjay Manjrekar.

The wicket-keeper batsman has played 77 Tests so far, scoring 4209 runs at an average of 39.70. Considered a game-changer in the ODI format, Dhoni has 7313 runs at an average of 51.13 in the 225 matches that he has played.

Successful and popular he might be, but Dhoni has had to endure some controversies as well, the most recent being the reported 'conflict of interest' in his shareholding in a player management firm, which has on its roll some Indian players including the skipper.

Dwayne Bravo West Indies captain suspended

1:58 PM
West Indies captain Dwayne Bravo has been suspended for one match after his side was fined for a second minor over-rate offence within 12 months during Friday's match against India at Port-of-Spain
The West Indies side was ruled to be one over short of its target at the end of the match when time allowances were taken into consideration. As such, Jeff Crowe of the Emirates Elite Panel of ICC Match Referees imposed a 20-per-cent fine on Bravo, while each of his players received 10-per-cent fines
As this was West Indies' second minor over-rate offence within 12 months, after it was fined for a slow over-rate in Cardiff against South Africa on 14 June during the ICC Champions Trophy 2013, Bravo has also been suspended from West Indies' next game on Sunday, 7 July, against Sri Lanka at Port-of-Spain

The offence is contrary to Article 2.5.1 of the ICC Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel, which relates to over-rate offences
Commenting on his decision, Crowe said: "The captains were informed of their respective positions relating to over-rate breaches before the start of the series. On Friday, the umpires had kept Dwayne informed throughout the innings about the position regarding over-rates, and more so when his side fell behind.
The charge was laid by on-field umpires Nigel Llong and Peter Nero, as well as third umpire Nigel Duguid and fourth umpire Joel Wilson
Bravo pleaded guilty to the charge. The subsequent penalties were accepted by both Bravo and the West Indies, so as such there was no need for a formal hearing.
