Mokokchung Nagaland | June 11 A resting shed was inaugurated today at the Cremation Ground, Mokokchung by the President, Gorkha Union Mokokchung.The resting shed was donated by the family and relatives of Late. Rame Rai, Ex-Town Mauzadar, Mokokchung to the Gorkha Union Mokokchung.
At a brief inaugural programme, the president, Gorkha Union Mokokchung, thanked the family of Late. Rame Rai for their noble cause and appreciated their kind gesture towards the Gorkha community. Late. Rame Rai was an ex- Town Mauzadar, a social worker and a pioneer of the Gorkha community in Mokokchung town. He died in 1986. The Lt. Rame Rai Parivaar Sangh, an entity organized for the welfare of the society and Gorkha community in particular, initiated the construction of the resting shed.
The shed is constructed in the burial ground adjacent to Late. Rame Rai’s tomb at Mokokchung.
