The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has invited applications for recruitment at 464 posts through Combined Defence Services (CDS) exam (II). The interested and eligible candidates can apply latest by August 18.

Eligibility criteria:

Age limit:

For Indian Military Academy: The candidates should not have been born before July 2, 1991 and not later than July 1, 1996.

For Indian Naval Academy: The candidates should not have been born before July 2, 1991 and not later than July 1, 1996.

For Air Force Academy: The candidates should not have been born before July 2, 1992 and not later than July 1, 1996.

For Officers Training Academy (SSC course for men): The candidates should not have been born before July 2, 1990 and not later than July 1, 1996.

For Officers Training Academy (SSC women): The candidates should not have been born before July 2, 1990 and not later than July 1, 1996. Unmarried, Issueless widows/ divorcees who have not re-married are eligible to apply too.

Educational qualification:

For Indian Military Academy: The candidates applying for this post should possess a degree from a recognised university.

For Indian Naval Academy: The candidates applying for this post should have acquired a degree in engineering from a recognised university.

For Air Force Academy: The candidates applying for this post should possess a Bachelors degree in Engineering. These candidates are required to have had subjects such as Physics and Maths in class 12.

For Officers Training Academy: The candidates applying for this post should possess a degree from a recognised university.

Selection process:

The candidates will be selected on the basis of the written test to be followed by an interview and personality test.

Application fee:

The candidates are required to pay an application fee of Rs 200. The fees can be sent through net banking/ cash. The candidates belonging to SC/ ST category or female candidates are not required to pay the application fee.

The recruitment for these posts will be done through Public Service Commission and West Bengal College Service Commission.

The applications are invited from Indian citizens and such other nationals as declared by the government of India for recruitment to the under mentioned posts.

Eligibility for Assistant Professor

Candidates applying for the government job by West Bengal for the post of assistant professors should be fluent in Bengali.

However, this requirement is not compulsory if the candidate is from the hill areas of the district of Darjeeling.

A candidate needs to have Good academic record, with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade of B in 7 point scale wherever grading system is followed) at the Master’s Degree level in a relevant subject from an Indian University, or an equivalent Degree from an accredited foreign University for the post of Assistant Professor (in Arts, Humanities, Science, Social Science, Commerce, Education, Languages, Law) for General Degree Colleges at sl. no.
