Gorkhaland Territorial Administration (GTA) chief Bimal Gurung met Mamata Banerjee at Richmond hill (govt. guest house), Darjeeling during the day. "It is just the courtesy meet" said Bimal Gurung while he was returning from the meeting. This was the first meeting of Bimal Gurung and Mamata Banerjee following deteriorated relationship due to last Loksabha elections.

Assam : Yet another Statue of Shaheed Major Durga Malla was unveiled on 1st July 2014 at Umrangsao, Dima Hasao district in the state of Assam by Shri Debhojeet Thaosen, Chief Executive Member of the N. C. Hill Autonomous Council at a function organised by Dima Hasau Unit of the Bharatiya Gorkha Parisangh. Shri Sukhman Moktan, the National Working President represented Bharatiya Gorkha Parisangh at this function. Shyabash Bhagopers at Dima Hasau for this great work.

The iconic Gorkhali leader Subash Ghishing turns 80. The Gorkha National Liberation Front (GNLF) suprimo the man who coined the word "GORKHALAND" might have lost his charm in the present Changing Political Scenario, nevettheless, his contribution in the Gorkhaland movement during 80's can be regarded as that of a great political leader. Sadly, his legacy is more of a failure, than of a triumph.
