17 year old Rinzing Uden Bhutia who is currently in Bhopal playing for Team Bengal at the Women's National Volleyball Tournament.

Rinzing is a class XI student of GD Goenka Public School, in Siliguri, and was good in sports since her early school days.

She has been champion in volleyball, badminton, throwback and karate in her previous schools. In fact she always stood as a sport-star. She has won many Schools matches, Himalayan Open Championship, DGHC Championship, State under 16 & 19s. She is a Spiker in Volleyball .

Simana - Friendly Volleyball tournament organised by SSB 29 Battalion

Mirik: A friendly volleyball tournament was today held in the Simana area under the initiative of the SSB 29 Battalion. The event saw participation of teams from Sukhay Pokhari police station, CRPF 142 Battalion and SSB 29 Battalion. SSB 29 Battalion won the tourney while Sukhay Pokhari Police ended up as the runners-up.

The sporting event was organised with an aim to build better ties between the three administrative forces besides encouraging sports among locals. Sukhay PS OC D Gajmer, SSB Simana SI Srikant Nayak and CRPF SI Asharam were present as special guests during the tournament where a huge crowd had gathered to enjoy the proceedings.
