Srinagar: The Amarnath Yatra in Jammu & Kashmir has been halted following tension and protests in Ramban. Four people were killed on Thursday after the Border Security Force (BSF) opened fire on protesters in Ramban.
The BSF troops allegedly opened fire indiscriminately, killing 4 and wounding 25 others, after massive protests broke out in Maisuma and Chenab region in the state on Thursday. A curfew is likely to be imposed in major towns after the protests.
Eyewitnesses said that the incident began over a tiff between locals and a BSF unit.
