Violence erupted in the district today after former MLA and BSP leader Sarvesh Singh Seepu and another person was shot dead by unidentified assailants.

He then joined BSP and had contested the last Assembly elections on BSP ticket from Sadar seat here.
Following the incident, angry locals thronged the police station demanding immediate arrest of the accused. The locals also pelted stones on the police station.
Heavy police force has been rushed to the spot to control the situation, where a large number of people have gathered.
