Kolkata: West Bengal Governor M K Narayanan on Wednesday ruled out the possibility of his mediation in the Darjeeling conflict.
"Since I am the Governor, I cannot mediate in the Darjeeling matter," Narayanan told reporters on the sidelines of an event here.
Asked to comment on the deadlock in Darjeeling where normal life had been out of gear since August 3 owing to strike and agitation for a separate statehood, the Governor said, "I hope they (state government and Gorkha Janmukti Morcha) find a way out of it. I think an earnest effort will be made by both the sides."
On being asked if he will be willing to visit Darjeeling at the moment, Narayanan said, "If I go it will add to the confusion. May be sometime later."
