About a month back, the Kurseong unit of the TMC had raised questions on the supply of drinking water in and around the Kurseong municipality area. Party leaders had pointed out there were a number of water tanks are in poor shape and unsafe and polluted water is being supplied to residents.

Now, the TMC leadership is raising health-related issues. It had recently put up posters across town demanding experts and doctors for Kurseong sub divisional hospital. Some TMC leaders had even visited GTA chief Bimal Gurung over the matter to request his help.

The Kurseong unit TMC leadership today served a deputation to the Kurseong sub-divisional medical officer pointing out the poor conditions in Kurseong hospital. The deputation has highlighted the hospital’s problems such as shortage of doctors, insufficient supply of medicine, diet and technicians among others. The hospital has been running without experts including surgeons and orthopedics for more than three years now.

The hospital authority has reportedly assured the TMC leaders their grievances and demands would be forwarded to higher authorities of the GTA. (EOIC)
