KURSEONG 13 Jan 2014 : The Election Department of the Kurseong Sub-divisional office organised a programme on January 10 to celebrate National Voters Day 2014. The event saw the participation of various schools from Kurseong sub-division.
Rajiv Subba of Rabindranath High School in Mirik secured the first position in the slogan writing competition, while Prasanna Subba from the same school came second. Meanwhile, Bikram Sangma and Sweta Pradhan of Tharbu High School bagged the first and second positions, respectively in the poster writing competition. These students will take part in the District Level competition on January 15 to be held in Darjeeling.
Deputy magistrate Sonam Doma Bhutia thanked all the participants and hoped for the best in the upcoming competition. Sub-divisional Information and Cultural Officer Parash Kumar Singh was at the programme as he judge. School teachers, BDO office and Panchayat office representatives and SDO office staff members among others were present at the occasion.
