Kalimpong : The Information and Cultural Department of Kalimpong today organised an all religion prayer session at the town hall to observe Martyrs’ Day on the occasion of Mahatma Gandhi’s death anniversary. The programme was presided over by deputy magistrate PL Rongdong as the chief guest and was conducted by educationist BR Chettri.
Yogvir Sakya represented the Hindu community, Jampa Palden Bhutia the Bhutia community, HD Subba stood for the Christian community, while Janab Kalimulla represented the Muslim community. The latter half of the programme had educationists such as JB Rai, Prof. Manojit Das and Yogvir Sakya highlighting the life and contributions of Mahatma Gandhi.
