Drinking water project at Khaptawali Gaon in Soureni

Soureni-Panighatta constituency GTA sabhashad Arun Sigchi today inaugurated a drinking water project at Khaptawali Gaon in Soureni. The project constructed by Shri Bhai Construction Company (affiliated to Kurseong PHE) with a budget of Rs27.80 lakh, is expected to provide drinking water to around 400 households in the region.

Sigchi said similar drinking water projects will be launched in all villages under the constituency by the GTA by next year. He said a water project has been started at Manju Khola Sigchi and the project will be large enough to supply drinking water to around 16 to 17 villages in the vicinity.

The GTA member also said new primary schools are being set up at various places including Badakothi, Sadhu Gaon, Rambede Gaon, Mandir Gaon, Upper Toklang, Tingling Limboodhura, Dara Gaon and Soureni Busty and they will start operating by 2015.

Claiming all development projects in the region will be taken up speedily, the sabhashad appealed for cooperation and support from the people.

Notably, the land for the project was donated by Kishore Chandra Pradhan, a local resident. Sigchi also inaugurated a Shiva temple in Limboodhura, Tingling.
