On March 5, 2014, GJMM had applied for the anticipatory bail on the Madan Tamang’s Body Guard case of May 21, 2010. There were 36 persons charge sheeted against this case, where 7 are on Bail, 10 are absconding and rest are under the judicial custody. Bimal Gurung, Asha Gurung, Pradeep Pradhan, Roshan Giri, Dr. Harka Bahadur Chettri etc. are in the list of absconders. The warrant was pending against them. Public Prosecutor Pranai Rai who offended the case, expressed satisfaction over the verdict said, “justice should be impartial and peace and harmony should be prevail in the hills.’

This is an incident that shows Mamata Banerjee and her government  using the Madan Tamang case for their motives. It is also said the same policy was applied to suppress the recent Gorkhaland agitation. It has been said that this was the result of GJM not supporting TMC in the upcoming Lok Sabha election.
