Past candidates from the hills used to win Lok Sabha elections because the hill voters voted in ONE BLOC - either GNLF or GJM (both parties supporting other parties directly or indirectly). The plains vote was always divided among CPIM, Congress, Trinamool, BJP, etc. This time the hills vote is divided. So the contest has become very interesting!
