The Gorkha National Liberation Front has reacted sharply to GJM president Bimal Gurung’s request to support BJP in the coming elections during a rally in Sukna yesterday. GNLF’s Kurseong unit spokesperson Daya Dewan said, “GJM which had termed GNLF to be a non-existent party should be ashamed of itself to ask for our support in this year’s elections.”
Dewan said GNLF was, is and will always remain as one of the top parties in the Darjeeling hills and the party will stick to its demand for the implementation of the Sixth Schedule. “The party will also continue its quest for the separate state of Gorkhaland through the Sixth Schedule,” he added.
Dewan also informed the party’s central committee members will conduct a crucial meeting on April 2 to discuss about the preparation for the party’s foundation day celebration on April 5.
