Darjeeling 15th April : As the Canvassing in Darjeeling has come to an end at 6 p.m. today, hills are ready for casting their vote for the 16th Lok Sabha elections which will take place on the 17th of April 2014.
Darjeeling constituency, this election is all set to have a very close contest between TMC candidate Bhaichung Bhutia and BJP candidate SS Ahluwalia backed by GJM. Tmc Bhaichung Bhutia has the advantage in the plains with 57 percent of total electorates and Ahluwalia has the advantage in the hills, with 43 percent of total electorates. But this time votes of the hills are divided among GJM, DDUDF Prof. MP Lama, and GNLF(TMC).
Less than 48 hours to go for the Loksabha polls 2014. If the hill votes go undividedly to BJP it is surely going win the election. But if the hill vote is split, which is very likely to be, the net beneficiary shall for sure be Mamta Banerjee.
Keep your fingers crossed, until May 16th when the true winner will be revealed after the counting the votes.
