To fulfill her promise to visit the Dooars region after the TMC's victory in the Lok Sabha Elections this year, CM Mamata Banerjee will be visiting the region tomorrow. The TMC got a resounding victory in the elections this year in the Jalpaiguri and Alipurduwar constituency of the region, ending the 40-year old Left Front regime in the two constituencies. The people of Dooars are expecting big announcements from the CM and the enthusiasm can be seen on both the public and administration.
The administration is on a war footing for the preparation, while the security has been increased across the two constituencies. The police inspected the entire Malbajar area yesterday, while similar operations were conducted at various areas under Alipurduwar district, which includes Madarihat, Holong Bungalow, Jayanti, Suntalabari and Baksaduwar. The CM is expected to go against the protocol and visit the Baksaduwar hills on June 3.
The TMC is currently making massive reshuffle in its district cells, and on the same line Mamata Banerjee has named Saurav Charabarty as the Jalpaiguri district committee president. The main reason for his appointment is due to his hard work in helping TMC candidates win the election in the two constituencies as well as to start the preparations for the state assembly elections in 2016. The CM is also expected to announce Alipurduwar and Jalpaiguri as two different districts during the visit.
