Bangalore: A 13-year-old domestic help from Darjeeling is battling for life at Vani Vilas Hospital after she was allegedly beaten up by her employers - a green-solutions businessman and his wife. The couple has been arrested.
The girl, who is an orphan and hails from Darjeeling, was brought unconscious to Nimhans on Thursday night. Her employer, who brought her, said she was suffering from epileptic seizures. On Friday, he took the girl to Blossom Hospital, Bommanahalli and vanished. Alerted by the hospital, police shifted the girl to Vani Vilas Hospital.
She worked for Nikhunj Todi, also a job consultant, and his wife Nafisa, both 33, who stay in St John's Wood Apartments in Koramangala. Police said neighbours told them the couple regularly thrashed the child and didn't feed her properly.
The girl was brought with head injuries and bruises all over the body. She has %been put on ventilator, police sources said. The couple was arrested under the IPC's Section 326 (voluntarily causing grievous hurt with dangerous weapons or means).
