Man Murdered in 9 Mile Kalimpong, Body found

Kalimpong: A businessman was found murdered in his rented accommodation at 9th Mile here by local residents early this morning.

Tapan Debnath, who was in his early thirties, originally hailed from Chakchaka in Cooch Behar and had been running a job placement agency in Kalimpong since 2009.

A man in his late 20’s early 30s was found murdered in his office located at 9th Mile, Kalimpong.

The man was an outsider in the area and had been operating an office B-Rite for the past 5 years in the locality. The man has been identified as Tapan Debnath, originally hailed from Chakchaka in Cooch Behar and had been running a job placement agency in Kalimpong since 2009.

According to the locals the man had come around 5 years back and set up an office called B-Rite – a Manpower company - which used to facilitate people to work in and outside India. The locals also reported that the office always had people coming and going out of it at all times of the day.

The locals have informed that apparently last night someone sneaked into the B-Rite office and murdered the man.

The police have collected the body and are investigating the murder. So far no one has been arrested in relation to the case.
