GTA ( Gorkhaland Territorial Administration ) Team won the Bishnu Jyoti all-India Invitation Football Tournament held in Tezpur Assam by beating the State Bank of India (Bhopal) team 2 – 1, the two goals were scored by Karna Limbu and Sajeet Chettri.
In the second semi-final, the GTA team had won New Model Sports Club by a single goal.SBI, on the other hand had entered the final by defeating Royal FC, Odisha, 3-1 in the first semi-final.
GTA team not only won the tournament, but has also won the hearts of the locals by their brilliant performance and amazing team play.
Such was the dominance of our team that star defender Sailesh Shankar won the "Player of the Tournament Award."
Formed in 2011, Share Football Club,kalimpong. has won numerous tournaments all over Bengal, Sikkim and now Tezpur. The phenomenal raise of this amazing team in only 3 years of its existence is indeed an inspiration to all of us.. and shows that we - the Gorkhas are no less than anyone... all we need is a platform to showcase our incredible talents.
