Gorkha's daughter from Sikkim, Urbashi Chettri to be conferred the first National Youth Award under Ministry of Sports and Youths Affairs, Government of India.
Urbashi, NYK cum Divya Jyoti Pakyong based NGO member will be the first Gorkha Sikkim girl to bag prestigious award. She is also persuing her MA in Sikkim University.
Award will be conferred to her on 12 Jan 2015 in Guwahati (Assam), on National Youth Day which falls in 12 Jan.
24 years old, Urvasi Chettri, is from Pakyong in East Sikkim. She is associated with Nehru Yuwa Kendra and various NGOs in Sikkim. She is a social worker and has done many good deeds for Sikkimese people and Sikkimese society.
Urvasi Chettri is the first Sikkimese girl to get this award. She will be conferred with this award on the occasion of National Youth Day on 12 January 2015 at Guwahati in Assam. She has dedicated this award to all the youths of Sikkim.
