Mr. Sanjay Gurung, a 30 year old Kalimpong native, who is currently working as a Manager at a restaurant in Gurgaon and lives in Chattarpur in Delhi had a horrible experience in Gurgaon. He was robbed at gun point and left in the middle of a forest.
Incident: On his way back from his work, Mr. Gurung took a cab that apparently was heading to Delhi. Once he got in, there were already three people, beside the driver. By their appearance, the victim could sense that something was a foul. However, when the driver asked the other two commuters for a ride, who were also waiting for cab, the victim was relieved... Sadly for Mr. Gurung the two did not board the vehicle because they weren't willing to pay the amount asked by the driver... The culprits drove on...
In what followed next in forty-five minutes or so, was nothing less than a scene picked up from some Bollywood movie.
The person seating beside Sanjay held his hand and started asking him to handover whatever he possessed... When Sanjay slapped the person and warned him of stern actions, the person sitting next to the driver took out a pistol, which Sanjay took as a joke and scoffed it off as some prank, thinking it to be a plastic pistol...
However, when the culprits established the authenticity of the gun, Sanjay didn't have any option but to do as he was told - he gave up everything on his possession at that point: a tab, a mobile phone, and Rs 2300/- in cash...
After robbing Sanjay of all his valuables, the cab dropped him in the middle of forest...
Yesterday Sanjay lodged a complaint and filed an FIR at DLF Phase II, Gurgaon, with the help of Gorkha Youth and Students' Association of India - GYASA
The SHO of the DLF Phase II police station, who gave a patient hearing, assured Sanjay that his Dept. will take up the investigation on a urgent basis (for that the case was filed under IPC 392 that pertains to rapid investigation for such cases)...
Sanjay did panic when he found out that the gun wasn't a fake one but he is normal now.
Commenting on how Sanjay fared, GYASA President Mr. Rajen Chhetri said, “nothing much to worry about… thankfully Sanjay wasn’t harmed, ulta Sanjay le dui-tin ghussi diyecha.”
Gorkhali after all.
Please be careful whom you take a ride from, it can be very dangerous
