Jan Andolan Party Youth Activist Arrested Ferrying Contraband Substances in Fake VIP Vehicle

A youth activist with allegiance to JAP, Mr. Topgyal Bhutia was yesterday arrested in Kalimpong while ferrying contraband substances (drugs) in a vehicle, in which they had put up fake Police plate and also the blue beacon light.

JAP activist Topgyal was arrested along with Sandip Pradhan and Kunal Pradhan yesterday and the police recovered large stripes of Proxygon, N10, Aluthrin Cough Syrup among others in a Maruti Wagon-R WB 74AE 8440.

The police are currently in the process of interrogating them to find out more about their dealer and distribution syndicate.

When asked for their reaction to the arrest, JAP media cell member Mr. Narendra stated, "he could be a member of Jan Andolan Party, but he is not a leader of any sorts..."

When inquired on if this arrest will hamper the image of JAP, he said, "No it won't... we are a new party and people have supported us... we are not even sure if he had actually taken official membership or not... we will try and verify if he is a member or not, and constitute an inquiry to ascertain facts pertaining to the issue and we will act accordingly."

Meanwhile GJM representative has said, "this is just an indication of the fact that JAP is full of anti-social elements... in a rush to drum-up support they have included criminals in large number into their party"
