Taking up five issues related to the beautification and infrastructural development of town, Kalimpong-based Bong Ujjawl Sangh today submitted a deputation to Municipality chairperson Gangamaya Gurung. To mention some of the issues, the organisation has demanded construction of public toilets at several places under the municipality, repair of drains and proper management of waste.
The Bong Ujjawl Sangh has conveyed to the Municipal authority the problems being faced by the locals due to improper disposal of garbage and inadequacy of public toilets. Responding to the petition, chairperson Gurung said the solutions to the problems will be sought out after holding a meeting with the councilors. She further said the issues will be raised in the municipality board meeting on January 30 that will be held in Kolkata.
