Players of the Gorkha Hills Karate Kickboxing Association have performed well in a state-level championship held in Bhuwaneshwar from February 1 to 3. All the eight Kalimpong players who participated in the championship organised by the All Orissa Kickboxing Association bagged a medal each comprising one gold medal, three silver and four bronze medals.
Association instructor Rakesh Basur lauded the achievement of the players during a press meet held at the association’s karate centre in Girls High Secondary School here. Basur praised and congratulated all the eight participants, especially Md. Safikal’s commendable performance in bringing home a gold medal. He said Nitesh Tamang, Pasa Sherpa and Aditya Lepcha won silver, while Pemba Tamang, Raju Gupta and Binita Subba bagged bronze medals, respectively. (EOIC)
