SSB seized items worth Rs.3 lakh at Indo-Nepal border in Pasupathi

Mirik: The 29th Khaprel battalion of SSB ‘B’ company today busted cross-border smuggling activities and managed to seize illegally shipped items worth Rs.3 lakh. The company's deputy commander M Mala Singh said the battalion at the Indo-Nepal border in Pasupathi managed to seize the items from people who smuggle goods to-and-fro across the border. He said the SSB will make sure such activities do not occur and will do everything to ensure legal cross-border trade.

“The mission started by Pasupathi border outpost assistant commander Abhijeet Sarkar and Khaprel unit commander Ashok Sajwan will be continued in future to make sure such activities are completely eradicated,” Singh said. Meanwhile, Pasupathi Phatak (Nepal) outpost officer in-charge I Thapa also appreciated the initiative started by the Indian forces and offered full cooperation.
