On the sideline of the National Sanitation Campaign that started in Darjeeling from Tuesday, the BJP leader said, “The Government of India has taken serious notes of the recent blasts in Burdawan and attack in a Birbhum village. Reports have come from across the border that Bangladesh’s terror outfit is operating from Bengal. This is harmful for the nation”.  He also alleged that 24 sleeper-cells of the Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) had already been formed in Bengal.
Three people were killed at Makhra a BJP dominated village in Birbhum
district on Monday when Trinamool Congress  activists attacked it and saffron party supporters retaliated. “The entire village had converted to our party, recently. However, the TMC could not take it and losing patience retaliated by attacking innocent villagers. It is also unfortunate that we have not got any administrative relief,” alleged Ahluwalia.
He was also of the opinion that efforts should be made to rebuild the confidence of the Birbhum villagers who were a distraught lot. “The confidence of the villagers is shattered by the attack. These
villagers are against the present regime and we must restore their confidence. And this can only be achieved if the rule of the land is upheld,” said Ahluwalia.
The Darjeeling MP also questioned the state government role in the Burdawan blast and the ongoing investigation. “It is only now that the state government has given its consent for the investigation by the NIA. However, what is also note-worthy is that illegal madrasas and gun and bomb factories are running in Bengal but no one has been arrested. This is because the Trinamool is hand in gloves,” alleged the BJP leader.
Critical of the West Bengal situation, Ahluwalia said: “The design has been exposed with the recovery of more than hundred live bombs in Burdawan including from health centres. It seems the bombs where hidden in health centres as no one would suspect it would be found in state government run offices. However, it could also be that this way bombs can also be kept in police station”.
