Another bizarre and violent incidence shook Kalimpong after a 21 year old man Sudhir Sharki committed suicide after murdering a 45 year old woman Yangdu Sherpa a resident of Mangbol busty.
According to sources, Yangdhu Sherpa's son arrived at his house in the morning to find the house locked from outside, and even the window had been broken. When he entered he found that his mother was lying in a pool of blood and all the household items were thrown around. It is estimated that Yangdu was attacked at around mid-night and died due to stab wounds around her neck.
Her killer Sudhir Sharki, a neighbour, then went and hanged himself to a tree in his garden.
Sources have said that Yangdu Sherpa used to live by herself most of the time, as her husband used to work outside Kalimpong, and her son used to work in a hotel.
The police have sent both the bodies for post mortem and investigations are on to determine the cause and motive behind the murder-suicide.
