Ace Hockey legend and former Team India Captian Mr. Bharat Chettri was yesterday felicitated with the "Banga Ratna" award by Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee at the opening of the Uttarbanga Utsav on January 20 held in Siliguri.
Bharat Chettri, a former Indian men's hockey team captain, had represented the national team in the Sultan Azlan Sha Cup in Malaysia and London Olympics in 2012. He is from Kalimpong in Darjeeling district. His parents live at Mechibari on the outskirts of Siliguri.
