"Political blunder unfolding, post poll high drama in store"
Even before the votes are to be polled, an indication has throttled one to believe that the hills are on the edge of betrayal once again. The question is now whether BJP will bring out an addendum or not. The bigger question is why it is not incorporating the demand for Gorkhaland in their manifesto. Why an addendum suddenly?
The answer however lies with the BJP itself; there is no denying into the fact. But what it has done is they have put the Bimal Gurung lead Gorkha Janmukti Morcha (GJM) at high risk. The risk of being uprooted like the once king of the hills Subash Ghisingh. The risk ironically was even there when it agreed to accept the Gorkhaland Territorial Administration (GTA) bypassing the people’s sentiment.
Having said that the GJM now in the position they are is also not safe from the state ruled Trinamool Congress. A political blunder seems to be unfolding yet again in the hills and this time one can expect that high stage political drama is awaiting post polls.
The elections this season is anybody’s game given the fact the hill votes are on the helm of division. The hill votes until five years back was a conglomerate unit that decided the fate of any regional or National parties that fielded candidates.
If BJP wins which looks to be bleak at the moment, the GJM is sure to face the wrath of the TMC. If TMC wins, it should again be ready to face TMC wrath. The BJP even if it wins ‘Gorkhaland’ looks deemed for the people of the hills. In all this it would not be wrong to predict the rise of GNLF and its king ‘Subash Ghisingh’ who is waiting at his Dr. Zakir Hussain Road. His silent politics is surely waiting for ‘Lal Kothi’ the erstwhile DGHC headquarters now GTA headquarters.
