When asked if the funds were been blocked by the state government and if he was being a puppet, he replied, “No one can make me a puppet, especially the West Bengal government. The funds are sanctioned for the development of the hills and they must allocate it.”

Speaking on the establishment of Trinamool Congress units across the hills he said, “TMC is not a factor in hills, earlier CPIM used to do politics by forcefully occupying the party offices and now the TMC is following the same path, but it will not help them to establish in hills as GJM has done numerous developments for the people and is a well established front.”

Replying to the question about the reason behind Gorkha National Liberation Front (GNLF) Terai chief Tshering Dahal’s joining GJM, Gurung said it was due to the all round development of the party and added more other leaders have intension to join his party.

On the closure of the Jangapani Tea Garden due to the pressure of his party supporters he said, “I am totally unaware about the fact that it was closed due to the pressure of my party workers, I will enquire into the matter strictly.”

GJM general secretary Roshan Giri who was accompanying Gurung was also unaware about the purpose of the New Delhi visit. He said, “I don’t’ have any idea about the visit, I was given the instruction, so I reached the airport.”
